Kumusta ka, everyone! Or hi, to everyone who doesn’t know Tagalog.
Today, the roommates, Joy’s family, and I went to Max’s Restaurant of Manila (featured picture if you didn’t know) which is Filipino food and I can say that it’s pretty good. Even the Filipino roommates agree. Of course, everything is made better at home but then again, nothing can beat a home-cooked meal. Duh. Everything made by your grandma/mom/family cook will always win your heart over a meal made by a restaurant.
If you look up the ratings on Yelp or Google, ratings might not be the best since they have some really old ratings on there and time heals all services and food so fear not, fellow foodies, food here is gooooooddd. So without further ado, here are the pictures of the food that is going to persuade you to come to this place and eat!
Fried Calamari Rings for appetizers. We had about 4 plates…
Then kare kare, a peanut-y curry/soup that tasted amazing with rice.
Sinigang soup, sour and delicious!
Fried chicken and fries. It’s fried, need I say more?
Pancit, yummy noodles!
Pinakbet, our veggie plate. The pumpkin dices were so good!
All of this can be found at Glendale, California and any other Max’s Restaurant of Manila. Now, I feel like I’m advertising this place… Anyways, the service and the food is nice, family friendly, and most of all, big portions.
Thinking of you,
P.S Sunday gets a little busy though so be prepared for a wait if you go on that day. Luckily for the shoppers, there’s the Glendale Galleria and Americana across the street. Literally. So shop then eat to all your heart’s content!
